An Antique late Georgian era 14/15K Rose Gold Mourning Ring with an Almandine Garnet Halo framing a scene of a woman by a plinth with an urn.
Urns symbolised eternity and the imagery depicts a woman wearing a Greco-Roman dress, grieving and leaning over the urn. The sepia tone scene is drawn using pulverized hair.
The ring has a closed back setting and features 22 faceted almandine garnets that are a lovely dark purple. 1 of the garnets may be a replacement but the difference is not too obvious.
The ring is a lovely example of a memorial jewellery piece and will make a wonderful historical addition to your jewellery collection.
