Crafted out of 10K Yellow Gold, this lovely dainty lavalier by renowned jeweler Ostby and Barton, features a small diamond as its center stone in a buttercup prong setting, a tiny baroque pearl above, and with a drop pearl hanging from a floral motif. This circa Edwardian/Art Nouveau era pendant will be wonderful to add to your jewellery collection.
Ostby & Barton Co. was founded in 1879 by Engelhart Cornelius Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Their company would soon become known as "the largest ring manufacturers in the world."
Sadly, Ostby perished on the Titanic when he was 52. His daughter who was with him on that fateful night survived after being forced to board a lifeboat. She joined her brother in running the business and it continued operations until the 1950s.
