A gorgeous pair of 18K Yellow Gold cabochon cut Emerald Stud Earrings set in an elegant lozenge shape setting attributed to Cardena Gioelli, who has been creating unique pieces of jewellery art using age old techniques since 1955.
The emeralds are a rich saturated green that will add a pop pf colour to your look and together with the gorgeous matte gold setting it is reminiscent of the byzantine style. The earrings were made using lost wax casting so each piece created is one of a klnd. Earring push back fastening are in great condition and stay in place securely.
Lost-wax process, method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the mold is made, the wax model is melted and drained away. A hollow core can be effected by the introduction of a heat-proof core that prevents the molten metal from totally filling the mold.
