A rare Antique 18K Yellow Gold Vintage A. Augis Qu'Hier Que Demain token that has been converted into a brooch. The text reads "+ QU'HIER - QUE DEMAIN" and translates to "today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow" from a famous 1907 poem by Rosemonde Gerard she penned for her husband.
The plus sign has 5 rose-cut diamond accents while the minus sign has 5 French cut synthetic rubies. It has a textured brushed background with the text polished and raised. The token is fixed upon a 9K Rose Gold bar pin brooch.
This piece is by Alphonse Augis, a French jeweler from Lyon, with A.A. maker's mark that is legible on the back of the token. This particular piece is one of the earliest versions offered by Augis. The laurel wreath boarder has some wear but is otherwise still crisp.
Signed A.A., marked ‘Depose’, and stamped with Augis’ maker’s mark.
