An antique Victorian Acrostic Ring in gold from 1889 with Amethyst, Diamond, Opal, Ruby and Emerald gemstones that spell out ADORE.
The symbolic nature of acrostic rings made them popular as tokens of love and affection. Even gemstones held symbolic meanings such as diamond representing eternal love, while ruby represented passion and desire.
The gemstones are vibrant and in great condition. The diamond has a yellow tint that suits the colourful nature of the acrostic rings.
The ring has full English rare Chester hallmarks and is in wonderful antique condition.
