A gorgeous Victorian era garnet cabochon and diamond star pendant dating to circa 1880-90. The pendant is crafted from 18K rosy gold with a large bezel set deep red cabochon cut garnet and a gold star set with old cut diamond that adds a lovely sparkle to the pendant and showcases a celestial theme which was very popular in the Victorian era.
The back of the pendant features a crystal back with an ivory coloured fabric insert that is meant to hold a memento. It can be removed however I have not attempted it personally so as not to accidentally damage the piece.
The attention to detail is exquisite with the garnet nestled in a swirling frame that adds so much texture and presence to the pendant.

CONDITION
Wonderful, pre-owned condition, light surface wear commensurate with age. One tiny chip and one scratch on right side of the garnet. Not very noticeable unless you scrutinize under light. Gold border has some surface scratches. Please refer to photos.
