A circa 1890s Victorian bangle crafted out of 14K & 18K Yellow Gold with a magnificent heart shape bezel set cabochon moonstone flanked by two swallows encrusted in seed pearls. Two gold beads flank either side of the swallows adding balance to the design of the bangle.
The moonstone has a beautiful adularescence with a moody blue flash when it moves much like the shine of moonbeams.
Moonstones were a popular gemstone in the Victorian times especially among lovers as it was known as the Lover's Stone and symbolised love and romance. Swallows symbolise loyalty, devotion, and the return of a loved one and because they mate for life, they also represented faithfulness and commitment.
