A lovely vintage Scarab ring crafted from 14K Yellow Gold featuring a beautiful carved Blue Quartz gemstone. The ring is reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian ring style which were originally tied to the fingers with thread but later gold wire was used, with coils patterned after the thread. The scarab is rimmed with gold and set in a swivelling bevel and has an inscription on the base.
The scarab (kheper) beetle was one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt because the insect was linked with the god Khepri and associated with the gods Atum and the sun god Re, who brought the sunrise over the horizon each day.
