A coveted QU’HIER QUE DEMAIN love pendant crafted in solid 18K gold, an iconic and meaningful addition to any jewellery collection. The inscription “qu’hier que demain” translates to “More than yesterday, less than tomorrow,” a romantic line from a poem written in 1889 by Rosemonde Gérard for her husband.
The pendant features a softly textured background, with the lettering polished and raised for elegant contrast with a diamond cut border. The plus sign is set with a diamond, while the minus sign is accented with two baguette-cut synthetic rubies, adding both symbolism and visual interest. The reverse is smooth and ideal for engraving initials or a significant date. The pendant comes with its original powder blue fabric-covered book-shaped box, complete with the vintage poem inscribed inside.
Created by Alphonse Augis, the celebrated French jeweller from Lyon, this piece bears a clearly legible A.A maker’s mark on the front, along with 18K and A.A stamp on the bail. First produced in 1907, this example dates to the 1950s and remains in very good condition.
